Week 2 / Research

This week, our group gathered key information about Expedio including :

  • company background
  • product details
  • target audience
  • competitors
a.Company Background

In the second week of our project, I reviewed materials compiled by my team members,which covered Expedio’s company background, product details,target audience,and competitors.Building on this foundation, I started to prepare a questionnaire for our initial meeting to gather more critical information, categorizing the questions into four sections:

I categorized the questions into four sections: 

  • Brand Identity and Positioning 

  • Product Information 

  • Visual Style and Design Preferences 

  • User Experience and Future Development Discussing 

the current strengths and weaknesses of user experience, as well as potential areas for improvement and innovation. 

During the preparation of the questionnaire, I found myself concerned about the comprehensiveness of the questions and whether my approach was overly rigid. To address this issue, I implemented the following strategies: 

Seeking Diverse Perspectives: Engaging in discussions with team members to gather their viewpoints and suggestions, thereby ensuring a more holistic and flexible approach to the questions. Interacting with people from various fields, professions, and cultural backgrounds to enrich my thought process and avoid cognitive rigidity. Through these measures, I gradually overcame my concerns regarding the questionnaire's completeness and the rigidity of my thought process, thereby enhancing its quality. This experience underscored the importance of a comprehensive understanding of client needs and the market environment in formulating practical solutions.
