Project 1: Animated Infographic Poster
Project 1 Recap
In this project, we were assigned to complete two main tasks:
Infographic Poster – We located a set of instructions and transformed them into a clear, visually engaging infographic. The focus was on using symbols and diagrams to effectively communicate concepts and processes.
Minimal Animated Infographic – Building on the previous task, we converted our static infographic into a minimal animated version. The goal was to enhance clarity and engagement through simple animations while maintaining the effectiveness of the original design.
Research
Initially, we needed to select at least three posters and consult with our professor. I chose three suitable infographics from Pinterest for redesign and discussed them with Mr. Shamsul. In the end, I decided to use the chocolate infographic poster for my Project 1 redesign.

Refelections
Experience:
This project allowed me to explore both static and animated infographic design, improving my visual communication skills. It started with researching and sketching an infographic about chocolate production, where I had to consider layout, typography, and visual hierarchy. Converting the static design into an animated infographic was challenging, as I had to manage timing, smooth transitions, and clarity. Although it was tricky at first, seeing the final animation come to life was very rewarding!
Findings:
I realized that visual hierarchy and simplicity are crucial for effective communication. Using icons, symbols, and minimal text helped make the information clear and engaging. In animation, pacing and smooth transitions play a big role in maintaining clarity. Color choices and typography consistency also affect readability and aesthetics. Refining both the static and animated versions taught me how to balance design and functionality.
Observation:
Animation makes infographics more engaging and easier to understand, especially when showing processes, ingredients, and trends. However, I also noticed that too many animations or overly complex effects can be distracting rather than helpful. Keeping animations minimal and purposeful helped create a polished final result. Feedback from my instructor was invaluable, making me realize the importance of testing and iterating to improve the design.
